Gracias a Instant live, la compañía de grabación y distribución de conciertos in situ, los clubber que vayan a la fiesta de cierre de la última Fundation a cargo de Sasha en Avalon, Hollywood podrán comprar una grabación en vivo del set directamente después del concierto y llevarse a casa a su héroe en un CD doble.
Los mixed CDs “Northern exposure” y “Global underground”, grabados por Sasha (con John Digweed) a mediados y fines de los noventa son las más comentadas compilaciones de progressive house jamás realizadas, y aun hoy las grabaciones piratas de sets pasados en vivo de Sasha ocasionalmente salen a la superficie en Ebay o la web.
“Este es un avance asombroso en el uso de la tecnología”, dice Sasha. “Me falsea y es realmente excitante que sea posible hacer algo como esto. Esta cultura, te guste o no, se construyó gracias a los cds piratas y ahora a los downloads. Instant live me permite poner mis sets directamente en las manos de los fans sin perjudicar a los que hacemos la música. Con el arte de tapa y packaging, será un buen recuerdo de la noche. Esta música siempre se basa en la inmediatez, en el aquí y ahora.”
Aparte de la tecnología de Instant live, la mezcla completa en vivo es posible gracias al soft Ableton live, que les permite a los djs ajustar los tracks perfectamente. Sasha empezó a usarlo hace un año y medio.
Los mixed cds de estudio normales requieren la licencia de todos los tracks antes de ser lanzados. Para la mezcla de Avalon, Instant live sacará licencia previa de todos los temas en la caja de discos de Sasha (o en su disco rígido, como sería en este caso) para que los artistas en el cd sean apropiadamente recompensados.
El cd doble se limitara a 10.000 copias numeradas individuales y estará disponible a fans que no vayan al concierto via preventa a través del sitio de Sasha o el de Instant live.
Sasha es el primer dj en trabajar con Instant live. Ya lo hicieron bandas como The dears, The cult, Echo & the bunnymen y Bauhaus, así como otros artistas que se fueron a casa con los fans.
La fiesta de cierre será en Avalon, Hollywood, California, el 24 de junio.

Thanks to Instant Live, the on-site concert recording and distribution company, clubbers attending the closing party of Sasha's latest Fundacion residency at Avalon in Hollywood will be able to purchase a live recording of the set straight after the gig and take home their DJ hero on a double CD.
Sasha's 'Northern Exposure' (with John Digweed) and 'Global Underground' mix CDs from the mid-to-late nineties are some of the most talked about progressive house compilations ever released and even today bootleg recordings of past live DJ sets by Sasha occasionally surface on eBay or the web.
"This is an amazing advancement in the use of technology," says Sasha. "It just blows me away and it is truly exciting that it's possible to do something like this. This culture, like it or not, was built on bootlegs and now downloads. Instant Live allows me to put my sets directly into the hands of the fans while supporting the music makers. With the artwork and packaging, it will be a great memento of the night. This music has always been about immediacy, it really is here and now."
Aside from the Instant Live technology, the completely live mix is also largely made possible by the Ableton Live software which enables DJs to beatmatch tracks perfectly. Sasha began using it just over a year and half ago.
Normal studio mixed CDs require all tracks to be licensed before the release is pressed and for the Avalon mix, Instant Live will also pre-license all tracks in Sasha's record box (or hard drive as the case may be) so artists on the release will be properly compensated.
The double-CD will be limited to 10,000 individually numbered copies and will also be available to fans not attending the Avalon gig via pre-order sales through InstantLive or Sasha's website.
Sasha is the first DJ to work with Instant Live. He joins bands like The Dears, The Cult, Echo & The Bunnymen and Bauhaus as other artists who have gone home with fans after their gigs.
