 Cita: A voyage into the world of Dj Jus Ed reveals an adventurous, energetic and spiritual style of playing quality house music. Since reappearing on the scene in 2001 after a brief retirement, DJ Jus-Ed’s underground smooth sets have captured & educated audiences all the way from his home base in Connecticut to Miami’s South Beach , Germany , London, New York , Russia , and much more .
DJ Jus-Ed ’s exposure to a wide range of experiences shapes his unique musical viewpoint. At the tender age of six he was backing up his grandparents in a Jazz duo “Tomi & Eddy” touring from the East to West coast as a drummer, later attending the University of Bridgeport at age 10 to study percussion instruments. Other musical influences included James Brown , Buddy Rich and later Chicago, 3 Dog Night and Luther Vandross. In the early eighties faithfully tuning in to WBLS with Frankie Crocker, Jus-Ed also embarked on his professional dj career in 1982 starting out playing the music of the times, freestyle, house, and R&B but retiring in 1985.
Upon his return in 2001, Dj Jus-Ed teamed up with DJ Vic Money (98.7 Kiss FM ), to create the “Underground Quality ” signature under which they began producing parties at venues such as, Ludlow Bar and Smithfield’s in the Lower East Side NY. Since those beginnings, Jus-Ed has been a featured guest at the long-running “Together in Spirit “, and at M-Break recordings label showcase event. He has also played on the radio on WNHU 88.7FM CT, downshiftradio.com on the Deep soulful house +” show and recently was showcased through his famous mixed cds on the DJ True show on WHCR 90.3FM in New York . The Underground Quality Radio Show , on myhouseyourhouse.net currently holds a cult like following with producers and record fiends alike tuning in each an every Wednesday to sample some of that quality deep house that he has become known and loved for the world over . He also guests on radio shows such as as Tim Sweeney’s highly regarded “ Beats In Space “ radio show broadcast from NYC . He continues to tour some of the best clubs across Europe . Clubs such as Fabric in London , Berghain ./Panorama Bar in Berlin , The Rex Club in Paris . Tape Club In Berlin , Robert Johnson In Frankfurt , Serafin’s Cabaret Club in Zurich , Sonar for the highly respected Resident Advisor , Possibly one of the most talked about label nights in Europe was The Underground Quality label night September 2009 at Berlin’s Tape Club , and many more . Jus Ed presented a podcast for Resident Advisor to rapturous applaud in 2009 & continues to receive column inches in highly respected music magazines such as Groove Magazine , Debug , Faith Honey Strobelight, New York Time Out e.t.c.
To say that Jus Ed and his Underground Quality have had a good 2009 would be a huge understatement . Jus Ed was recognised amongst the top 100 dj’s on Resident advisor ; for 2009 . taking over the number 47 spot , whilst Underground Quality took the number the number 6 spot on the top 20 labels of 2009 and Club Tape Club Mix a Compilation of 6 mixes By Levon Vincent , Anton Zap , Jus Ed , Dj Qu , Fred P aka Black Jazz Consortium & Nina Kraviz made especially made for the Underground Quality label night @ Tape club – Berlin – took the number 6 spot of the top compilation /mixes for 2009 .
Jus Ed’s Underground Quality label continues to break and showcase some of the most sought out underground artists in the thriving deep house scene . Artists such as , the much in demand Levon Vincent , Dj Qu , Fred P aka Black Jazz Consortium , Anton Zap , Nina Kraviz + many more .
