Eric Johnston, already a native of Wolf + Lamb and Esperanza makes his way to the very viscous and fluid Kalimari fresh release with "Same Same But Different EP".
Pieces such as "I Bronze Well" and "We Should Go Eat" are dipped in a thick, and most definitely very deep, latex honey of ambient noise spotted with tiny shimmering bubbles of extremely delicate and intricate textures.
"I Like You Dog" and "Yes We Are" take on a similar tone but are even more hypnotic, with a tremulous and unrelenting drive which is deceptively soft and caressed in the perfect measure of percussive and droning layers which slowly peel away to reveal their magic like a glowing rolled up newspaper curling back in the solar, electric, heat of fire.
