Del Jardín Latino: -When you start producing work on a piece, do you know which label will it go to, or would you rather have total freedom on the creation and then see where it can fit best?
Mathias Kaden: -I never produced a track especially for a label, this is so much better for your own creativity because you are more free and you let the sound roll. When I finished a new track than I decide is it for Freude Am Tanzen or more for Vakant and when both are not fit I give it to some friend labels for a possible VA record. I never did a own EP on another label yet. Just FAT and Vakant

DJL: -Many important labels are no longer editing in vinyl, do you see it as something necessary considering the technological changes we are experiencing?
MK: -For me is it very interesting what ´s going on with the technologie in our music world but still or me is the vinyl the important medium to play my DJ-set´s and so long we´ll have it I use it and love it.

DJL: -Is it possible still, nowadays, to start up a career as a DJ without producing?
MK: -We have a lot of examples in the scene that DJ´s who play since 20 years there are not producing anymore, but for me is it so important to make music that i´ll never stop and i´ll find my time.

DJL: -Are you working on new editions at the moment?
MK: -After my album, Studio 10, I want to find some new ways for me and my sound. The first step now is to move to a new studio and than we´ll see whats happened 2010 :-)

DJL: -What kind of software and hardware are you using for your LIVE shows?
MK: -For my liveshows I use my laptop and 3 midicontrollers and one m-base 01. In my studio I use just only hardware to produce….it makes more fun and real sound for me.

DJL: -What artists caught your attention recently?
MK: -People like Josh Wink or a lot of house icon´s like Ron Trent, Kerry Chandler or also MAW and a few more…..
