| Trance Africa - Mixed by James G & Shane Halcon After the monumental success of the recent Armin van Buuren / Godskitchen events (Two sold-out events with over fifteen thousand attendees), it’s clear that TRANCE is still very much alive and kicking in Southern Africa.
Shelter Music, together with the top 2 Trance Dj’s in South Africa (Shane Halcon & James G) have put together a fresh and unique trance compilation. The CD is powered by none other than ARMADA MUSIC. Armada is associated with names such as Armin van Buuren, Markus Schulz, DJ Shah and many more of the top global players in the scene. TRANCE AFRICA was the chosen title for the project, for a few reasons. Most importantly, to draw attention to the fact that TRANCE locally is still a force to be reckoned with. Another reason for this name is the connection it shares to the online internet group of the same name. The TRANCE AFRICA GROUP on facebook was started by James G as a way to connect local trance fans and promoters.
TRANCE AFRICA is also a party concept, infiltrating some of the biggest events and parties locally, hosting floors and club nights within South Africa and abroad. With all of the above in mind, it’s plain to see that TRANCE AFRICA is a rising brand and surely one that will become a household name both within the trance scene and electronic music in general.
TRANCE AFRICA mixed by Shane Halcon and James G is a double CD compilation, featuring some of the hottest and most in demand tracks being played by Armin van Buuren, DJ Tiesto, John O’Callaghan and more.
Disc One has a primarily Progressive approach… a true reflection of Shane Halcon’s unique blend of Progressive Trance and Tech-Trance that is weaved together in Shane’s special way that has made his opening sets at ESP, and supporting sets to world renown superstars ,ever so popular. Shane has shared the decks with some of the world’s top Trance acts and has even been one of the only South Africa’s to ever play at London’s prestigious SE ONE. He has also shared “back to back” sessions with DJ MAG Top 100 DJ Menno de Jong in Eindhoven 2007 as well as highlighting events along with Jon O’Bir (Paul van Dyk’s VANDIT), Adam White (Paul Oakenfold’s PERFECTO) and First State (Tiesto’s BLACKHOLE RECORDINGS) to name just a few.
Disc Two features that MAIN SET element to it. Big-room trancers together with massive vocal hits, signatory to James G’s ever popular sets which have graced the decks alongside the world’s top DJ’s for years. James has been one of South Africa’s top trance DJ’s for a long time now. His most recent achievement was UK club brand Godskitchen requesting his services to perform alongside ARMIN VAN BUUREN at its world tour event in South Africa. James has played around the world from Spain to Poland as well as being part of the ESP tour to the Zurich Street Parade, playing to close on one million people in a single afternoon! TRANCE AFRICA is a unique aural experience, moving emotionally through some of the most melodic soundscapes ever made. The music effortlessly guided by trance masters Shane Halcon & James G.
