2nd Annual Operation Give Life - Cancer Benefit Concert

On July 18th, 2009, trance music lovers will unite under one roof to party with a purpose as DJs and music lovers from all over the world will join the fight against cancer for one night of extraordinary entertainment. The second annual Operation Give Life (OGL) is a cancer benefit concert hosted by Randy Boyer, who is headlining the event along with the up-and-coming duo, Tritonal, and Hartford/Florida’s hometown favorite, DJ Si-Dog. The show will be hosted in Hartford, CT at Room 960.

TrancePodium.com is proud to be one of the sponsors of this event.

Money raised from OGL will go to support the Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC). The PMC raises money for life-saving cancer research and treatment at The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, MA, through an annual bike-a-thon that crosses the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. 100% of the money raised through ticket sales and donations from OGL will go to support the PMC and more importantly, The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, one of the leading centers for cancer research, treatment and patient care.

The first annual OGL raised nearly $2,000. This year, Boyer plans to raise the bar higher by inviting fans and friends worldwide to donate to the cause online @ Operation Give Life 2009 . Why donate? Did you know that cancer is the second most common cause of death in the US, exceeded only by heart disease? Every day over 1,500 people in the United States lose their battle. The lifetime risk of developing cancer is 1 in 2 for men, and 1 in 3 for women.

From The DJs

Boyer states, “Cancer is by far one of the most frightening diseases in the world. Knowing that I can make a difference with the help of my fans is what makes me pour my energy into this event to raise as much as I can to support cancer research. I feel like it is so easy to get wrapped up in our modern day, busy lifestyles and forget to be grateful for each day that we have until something unfortunate happens, which makes us become grounded. I try to count my blessings everyday and remain grateful for the success of my career and the love and support of my family, friends, and fans. I know that this fundraising event will help to better the lives of children and adults all over the world affected by cancer and I urge everyone to donate to the cause @ Operation Give Life 2009. I think we all have a responsibility to give back to the world and this is the best way that I can use my talents to do that, which makes me extremely proud and honored”.

Chad from Tritonal writes, "We jumped at the chance to be a part of this event, as both Dave and I know people who have been directly affected by cancer. We hope that people will respond to the call of this event, and donate some money in the name of it. We are going to put on an amazing show, and are already preparing for the event. Hope to see you guys out!"

This event could not have been made possible without the help of many individuals and companies who have donated their services, 100% free of charge: Randy Boyer, his management team: Elyse Lavin & Samantha Scroxton, Tritonal, DJ Si-Dog, Zeke Graphics, Mikey McNulty Photography, CT Lasers, Room 960, and many more.

How to Donate:

Donate online from anywhere in the world @ Operation Give Life 2009 . You do not have be attending the show to donate. However, by donating a minimum of only $10, you will receive an e-mail to confirm your place on the advanced guest list. The minimum donation at the door will be $20, so be sure to donate early! One last way to donate is through the auction of a limited edition Mikey McNulty Photography Vivid Fine Art print. Check out this one-of-a-kind piece of artwork inspired by McNulty’s renowned nightlife photography at the OGL official site and bid now!

What people should expect is an amazing crowd unified by the driving force of some of the most cutting edge music to date. Since purple is the official color of cancer awareness, like last year, it is encouraged to dress in black and purple.

The time is now to come together and contribute to the global fight against cancer. After all, what better group of people is there to rise to the occasion than the global trance community?
