Cream Win 'Best Club Of The Last 25 Years' Award
Liverpool club ‘Cream’ wins award for ‘Best Club Of The Last 25 Years’ in Mixmag’s 25th Anniversary Awards. Coinciding with Dance music bible Mixmag’s 25th Anniversary, Mixmag asked their readers to vote for their favourite Club, Tune, Dance Act and DJ of the last 25 years.
Thousands of dance music fans, clubbers and music lovers voted in the poll and in one of the toughest polls of all, the mighty Cream was crowned ‘Best Club Of The Last 25 Years’ beating off competition from the likes of the Hacienda, Fabric, Ministry Of Sound, Gatecrasher and Godskitchen. The award comes at a fitting time as they celebrate the 10th Anniversary of their annual dance festival Creamfields which took place this August Bank Holiday weekend.
Other winners include one of this years Creamfields acts ‘Underworld’ whose monumental dance anthem Born Slippy (later featured in cult movie Trainspotting) was voted the Best Dance Tune of the past 25 years, beating Massive Attacks’ Unfinished Sympathy' into second place. World famous DJ Carl Cox beat stiff competition from Fat Boy Slim, Sasha and Pete Tong to be crowned Best DJ of the past quarter of a century.
