Mission Statement - Ignitions
DJ mix shows on Digital Radios are a dime a dozen these days. As are Digital Radio stations. Come to think of it, so are DJ's who host, present and feature on these weekly and monthly residencies. While many accomplished, acclaimed and familiar friends and colleagues often seem to either host or appear on these shows on a very regular basis, one can't but help but be overwhelmed by the variety of choice (positively and negatively). So, as we began to consider the offers we had and contemplate starting our own show: the format, the presentation, the timeslots, the name, the when, the where, the who's; one question kept recurring, and taking into account the sentiment expressed in the opening salvo above, "WHY"?
It is our sincerest wish that at very least our biographies, discography' s and whatever other promotional tool we throw at you at least convince you that we are capable and somewhat deserving of our own show-only joking. Ideally, the aim of this show is to present a comprehensive amalgamation of the electronic sounds we push on a daily basis, whether it be from the studio or the DJ booth. Our chosen medium is, of course, the mix set which we feel, in the current state of technology-infused equilibrium of the music world is ideal since it is the perfect platform upon which we can blend both mixing and production-creating a unique listening experience every time!
As if this weren't enough, our chosen format is a monthly rotation schedule between Stel and Nick and John with the addition of a monthly guest! In keeping with the aesthetic and purpose of the show the reason for the guest slot is to be able to showcase a unique, exclusive and entertaining mix session by some of (what we believe to be) the most exciting, innovative, up-coming and interesting DJ/Producers in the world. This is to ensure you don't get your run-of-the-mill "Monthly Promotional Radio Mix" you have heard already any given month by the same familiar faces-as well as offering a bit of variety in case you really can't stand what music we are offering! The guest slot will present many artists you may already know but also a wide variety of those we think you should or (in our humble opinion) will be hearing a lot more of!
So, by way of extended disclaimer and statement of intent, a heartfelt WELCOME to the show and thanks, in advance, for listening.
